Food Shelf
PH supplies volunteers who work the fourth Tuesday night from 5:45 until 8:15 pm at the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf in Mounds View. The food shelf is located on Old Hwy 10 just east of Silver Lake Rd. The food shelf website is https://www.moundsviewschools.org/foodshelf.
With the pandemic, a contactless pickup is being used for groceries and our volunteers are not needed. With Pilgrim House closed, donations of groceries may be dropped in bins at the back of the food shelf and money can be donated online (see http://www.moundsviewschools.org/Page/173 for donation information).
Current Food Shelf Needs
The following items are often needed: Canned Fruit, Canned Meat (tuna, chicken, spam, ham), Peanut Butter, Spaghetti Sauce, Tuna, Helper/Hamburger Helper, Sweet Cereal, Stew and Chili, Spaghettios/Raviolio’s with meatballs, Mac n Cheese Cups, Boxed Mac n Cheese, Ketchup, Granola Bars, Flour, Sugar, Oil, Shampoo, Toilet Paper, Dishwasher Detergent, Baby Wipes, and Laundry Detergent.
Donations of Money - a $100.00 donation can provide up to $800.00 worth of groceries when they purchase through their network of suppliers. Note that you can now donate to the food shelf via a link on the food shelf website at http://www.moundsviewschools.org/Page/173.
Most of the clients are families with children, so items children will like are especially welcome.
Food shelf items are normally collected the first Sunday of the month (our Soup Sunday) at PH. For information on volunteering at the food shelf, see below.
Volunteer to work at the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf in New Brighton
Volunteers are needed! PH members and their families are operating the food shelf on the fourth Tuesday evenings from 5:45 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. The work is easy and the rewards are great!
